What it says\n\nIf you refer someone for a credit product (mortgage, personal loan), and you receive any benefit, you must:\n\n1. Disclose the referral relationship and any benefit to the consumer in writing.\n2. Not provide credit assistance yourself unless you're a credit rep.\n\n## What this looks like in practice\n\nA short text or email to your friend: "Hey, just so you know, if you end up working with Sarah I get a small referral fee from her business. Doesn't cost you anything. Happy to introduce you either way." That's it.
